One skill I learned as an apprentice display artist was silkscreening.I returned to it a few years ago, initially as a bit of a muck around, and found that the process was way easier, and way less mucky a process as I had previously experienced - I was used to hand cutting screens and using nearly a sack of cotton-waste to clean the things off afterwards. I started printing t-shirts, putting some into a couple of specialiy outlets and doing runs for clients (I even did a run of cd covers!).I wanted to specialise in small runs, no more than 20 (unless begged) as I saw, and still do, see a market for the client who doesn't want a run of 50-100 units minimum quantity and who wants a short turn around time.
