I started in retail display in 1977 as trainee at CNA. I soon moved to John
Orr's as apprentice window dresser, working in all aspects of display from planning, prop design and construction to final implementation. I have since spent 13 years in the Edcon
group in both Edgars and Jet operations, 6 years as display manager for
the OK Bazaars Eloff Street flagship store, and 10 years in tourist
retail, interspersed with various freelance projects. I've also dabbled in some museum exhibitions display for Museum Africa.
I currently
juggle buying African art and doing freelance display for a tourist retail group. All in all I've worked with all aspects of retail; food, furniture and fashion. I am one of the few all-round display experts in the country.
I am available for on the spot freelance visual merchandising, training and consulting.
I am based in Johannesburg, South Africa.
